Willmore Center COVID-19 FAQ

The Willmore Center will re-open on Monday, June 15, 2020.

Please review our policies for returning to the Center and review the FAQs on this page.

We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Willmore Center! In order to keep everyone informed, we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its effect on the Center.

Please read through the following FAQs before contacting the College, as they will provide a more timely/immediate answer.

If you still have questions, please contact Maddie Koster at [email protected].

Who will have access to the Willmore Center in Phase 1?

  • New and current members are welcome to use our facilities.
  • Facility use will be limited to members age 16 and older.
  • During Phase 1 of reopening, Willmore Center will not sell day passes.

Will the pool be open?

Open lap swim will start June 15 with a capacity limit of six members at a time. It will function on a first-come, first-served basis until further notice.

Will the gyms be open?

The Weiske and Keipe gymnasiums will remain open. The gyms will not be available for any group play.

Members are asked to bring their own equipment. Willmore Center equipment check-out services will be unavailable.

Will the Field House Track be available?

Yes, the track will be open for your use. Please make sure to keep a 6-foot distance between you and other members.

Will locker rooms be available?

Locker rooms will be available only during open lap swim hours, and no items can be stored overnight. We are asking members to clean out their lockers by June 22. If not done by this date, your items will be removed from your lockers and will be bagged up by locker number and put into our storage. If your items were put in storage our front desk staff will be able to assist you.

We encourage our members to come dressed and ready for their workouts and to use our open storage located by the weight room and fitness studio.

When will group exercise and water aerobics classes return?

Group (land) exercise classes will be available in phase 2 with limited schedules. Class sizes will be limited based on a safe capacity of physical distancing. Details will be coming soon.

Water aerobics will remain inactive until further notice.

Do I have to renew my membership if expired during closure?

No, all memberships have been considered frozen while we have been closed. The time that was lost during closure will be extended onto your membership. Please contact Maddie Koster at [email protected] if you have questions about your membership.

What if I don’t have a mask?

You must have a mask to work out at Willmore. We do not expect you to wear the mask while working out, but you will be required to wear it when you are unable to ensure a 6-foot distance from other members and staff, and when entering and exiting the building. This is to ensure the safety of our members and staff. We are selling masks for $1 at the front desk. Stop by and our student staff will help you out!

Will the tennis courts be set up?

Members are allowed to play tennis on our outdoor courts. Indoor courts will be available if weather does not allow you to play outside.
