Why Peace is Possible: Exploring the Dimensions of Human Kindness in the Midst of Violence

February 25 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

Why should we be optimistic in a time when violence and inhumanity seem to be winning? We will look at major barriers to peace and opportunities for peacebuilding. Through the lenses of gender and race, we will explore pathways to a more just and humane world. Introducing the concepts of peacebuilding, resilient communities, and restorative justice, the talk will consider personal and structural changes that lead to peaceful co-existence.

The webinar is sponsored by the Center for Politics and the People of Ripon College.

Dr. Lynne M. Woehrle, Director of Sustainable Peacebuilding Programs at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Associate Professor in the College of Nursing
