Reforming U.S. Immigration Policy

October 25, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This panel, featuring Marisa Leza of Voces de la Frontera in Milwaukee, immigration lawyer Huma Ahsan from Madison, and John Holevoet representing the Wisconsin Business Association, will discuss current U.S. immigration policy and ideas for comprehensive immigration reform. One of the questions that will be addressed is whether U.S. immigration policy is striking the right balance between employment-based and family-based immigration or whether changes should be made. Other topics to be considered include the economic and cultural impact of immigrants and dealing with undocumented immigrants. The panel will be moderated by Henrik Schatzinger, associate professor of politics and government.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Politics and the People.
