Rafael Francisco Salas to present virtual artist’s talk Thursday

Professor of Art Rafael Francisco Salas will present a virtual artist’s talk Thursday in connection with an exhibit at the Museum of Wisconsin Art, St. Kate: The Arts Hotel, in Milwaukee.

“Into the Vault with Rafael Francisco Salas” will begin at 7 p.m. and live stream on Facebook and YouTube.

He will show rarely-seen works from MOWA’s permanent collection and talk about the tradition of Wisconsin landscape painting and his new exhibition In Flowered Fields. A live question-and-answer sessions will follow.

“In Flowered Fields,“ is on view through May 2. Salas pairs his work with examples from the museum’s permanent collection to “create a dialogue that includes a milieu of Wisconsin artists present and past.” A review of the exhibition can be read here.
