Ripon College Moves Up in National Rankings

College cited for prestige and value by two national publications

Ripon College jumped up on the annual list of the most prestigious and best value national liberal arts colleges according to new rankings released today in U.S. News & World Report. The news follows Ripon College’s leap forward last week in The Washington Monthly’s yearly list of “Best Bang for the Buck” colleges, which also measures the cost and worth of the degree for its students.

“The Ripon College community is proud of its academic heritage and its bright future,” said President Zach Messitte. “While rankings should always be taken with a grain salt, it is nice to be recognized as both a top national institution and one that places a premium on finding value for our students.”

In the U.S. News listing of “Great Schools, Great Prices,” Ripon College ranked 30th and was one of only two Wisconsin colleges to meet the publication’s criteria of high quality academics at an affordable cost. Overall, Ripon rose in the rankings on the Best National Liberal Arts Colleges listing to 113th in the nation.

In the Washington Monthly’s review of national liberal arts colleges, Ripon was named the 23rd “Best Bang for the Buck” and cracked the list of top 100 best National Liberal Arts Colleges at 99th.
