Each June, during Alumni Weekend, Ripon College faculty members provide lectures on contemporary topics as part of Ripon’s Summer Heritage Lecture Series. These lectures are open to all alumni and local community members. In addition, we again are offering a five-week online lecture series on World Religions with Professor Brian Smith. 2015 Summer Heritage Lecture Schedule
Exploring World Religions with Professor Brian Smith (online & live lectures)
This summer Ripon College alumni and friends can once again take advantage of an unique opportunity to join Professor of Religion Brian Smith for a special five-week online lecture series on World Religions, May 25-June 26, 2015. Each week will cover a different religion, and as a participant, you can access readings and video lectures at your own pace and tune in live each week to debate the issues with fellow classmates. This predominantly online series will culminate in a face-to-face session held during Alumni Weekend at 8:30-10 a.m. in Kresge Little Theatre, East Hall on Friday, June 26.
The fee for the online lecture series is $100. The fee for 1851 Club and Partner in the Legacy members is $75. Please register for this online lecture series by Friday, May 22.
The Ceresco Prairie Conservancy in Pictures (live lecture & prairie tour)
Professor of Biology Skip Wittler will lead a lecture during Alumni Weekend from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 26 in Kresge Little Theatre, East Hall exploring the botany of the prairie through a series of high res photos. Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras to practice their skills during a tour of the prairie at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.
