Position Description: Resident Assistant (RA)
The Office of Residence Life is committed to
providing a comfortable and nurturing
environment conducive to students' academic and
personal success while fostering a sense of
community, civic responsibility, and an
appreciation for diversity in all students. Students serving as Resident Assistants foster this type of environment in the halls.
If you are a student interested in an RA position, please use this portion of the College website as a reference to obtain information about the RA position and the application process. Resident Assistants are upper-class (Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors) students living within the residence halls who have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities and a desire to see their fellow student succeed both socially and academically. RAs strive to create a positive floor/building community by working with their residents to establish friendships, enable them to feel at home in the halls, to help them become involved in campus life, and to generally find their place on campus. Through programming and positive role modeling, RAs work to foster a living environment that addresses the basic needs of students. They serve as part of a duty rotation, create all campus events and floor programs, and often serve as the primary source of information regarding campus resources, policy, and referrals to organizations in the Ripon community.
Students interested in the position should download an application and candidate reference forms below in early fall 2008 from this portion of the webpage or may contact the Office of Residence Life for more information about this position and when anticipated openings may be posted.
