{ Lofts }

Ripon College has a partnership with Campus Lofts to provide students with rental loft furniture for use while they live on campus. Students can rent a loft for the year (or just a semester) via the Campus Lofts website (www.campusloftsinc.com). This program is easy to use, and lofts and futons are delivered to campus on move-in weekend. Students interested in participating in this program should:

  • Visit www.campusloftsinc.com and enter RIPC for the school code.
  • Select the loft desired (with or without a shelf) and then complete the rental agreement with the company. (Futons that fit directly under the lofts are also sold by this company. As such, students can also buy a futon and have it delivered here, ready for them on move in day.)
  • A semi truck is here on move-in weekend full of the lightweight metal lofts, and students pick the loft from the truck and assemble it in 10 minutes. (No moms and dads with tools; no lumber yards to visit – just grab it and go. A room is set up in ten minutes as the loft uses a series of locking pins that require no tools.)
  • At the end of the year, students take the loft back to the semi and go home. They do not need to worry about taking it apart, dragging it to storage, and checking it in (and finding room for it!) or having mom and dad haul it back home to the basement for the summer.

A feature of these lofts is that they can link together – in other words, if a student and her roommate both get the loft, they can either make an “L” shaped loft in the corner of the room, or they can make a long loft with the two ends hooked together.

Campus Lofts is the official loft provider of Ripon College. Students not interested in this product are also allowed to construct wooden lofts for their room (as long as they adhere to College guidelines) until May 2009, at which time, students living on campus will only be able to use Campus Lofts for lofting purposes.

Physical plant personell are also able to bunk a limited number of student beds at the College. Please inquire about this option by contacting the Office of Residence Life if interested.
