Scott Hall Council
Scott Hall Council is an organization that serves as “the voice” of residents of the hall. The Council plans programs and activities for hall residents and the entire campus, in addition to discussing issues affecting the building. Representatives from all areas of the hall form the Council. Getting involved in Scott Hall Council is a fun way to meet other students while gaining new leadership skills. If you are a resident of Scott Hall, talk to your Hall Director or RA to find out how you can become involved!
Student Senate
The Student Senate is the legislative branch of the student government at Ripon College. It is charged with managing the student activities fee for the benefit of students at Ripon College, monitoring the activities of Student Senate recognized organizations and formulating policies on areas of student concern. The Senate has a programming body, the Student Media and Activities Committee (SMAC), and several voting positions on the college's faculty, alumni and trustee committees.
Senate meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and are open to anyone who wishes to attend. There is an Open Forum portion of the meeting at which any student may voice a concern directly to the Senate. Members of the college community also are allowed to comment on each item of business before the Student Senate.
Students and members of the college community are strongly encouraged to voice any concerns they have to their Student Senator, an Executive Board member or the assembled Senate. If you are interested in serving as a Senator, please talk to your Hall Director at the beginning of the year to run for a position, or later in the year if you are intersted in serving if a vacancy arises on your hall council's delegation.
Executive Board positions include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Elections for these positions are open to those who will be on campus for the duration of their term and have at least one semester of experience as a member of Student Senate.

The Board will investigate alleged infractions of institutional policies, determine guilt, and, with administrative approval, assess penalties in order to maintain acceptable conduct. It may serve as an appeals body, conduct general investigations, arbitrate disagreements between students and organizations, interpret organizational constitutions (including its own), and rule on the conduct of campus-wide elections.

Tri-Dorms/Johnson Hall Council
The Tri-Dorms Hall Council is an excellent way for residents of Shaler, Evans and Wright Halls to become involved at Ripon. The Council works closely with the Hall Director and hall residents to plan activities and programs for the hall and campus. Representatives of each area of the building are a part of the Council and the group determines meeting times.
