On March 14th, WRPN-FM sent six broadcasting students to Middleton, WI to attend the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s (WBA) Student Seminar. Taking place at the Madison Marriott West, the daylong event brought together over 185 students from across the Midwest to discuss and share ideas in today’s broadcasting industry. This year’s annual event welcomed a record crowd of college students to a day filled with discussion, workshops, forums and presentations.
Those attending from Ripon were students Amy Audley, Sarah Brown, Michael Buroker, Sara Sisco, Rusty Schultz and Stormi Weyh. The event provided the group with unique insight into how other similar campus television and radio broadcasting stations work and operate. The event featured a keynote speech by Andy Kubitz over the lunch hour. Kubitz is the Vice President of Programming Planning and Scheduling for CBS Television and a UW-Stevens Point graduate.
