Cinemaniacs
Cinemaniacs is Ripon College's film appreciation club. Our primary focus is organizing an annual film festival. This year we'd like to hold workshops on various aspects of filmmaking, and maybe produce some films as well. For additional information: Cinemaniacs Web site
College Days
College Days is Ripon’s official campus newspaper and the oldest college newspaper in Wisconsin. Recognized for excellence by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and the Milwaukee Press Club, College Days continues its tradition of excellence into its 136th year of publication. College Days is published bi-weekly. All students are welcome to submit articles, features, cartoons or letters to the editor. Students also are invited to enroll in the journalism courses or to join the College Days staff. For additional information: College Days Web site
Crimson
The purpose of the Crimson is to produce a quality yearbook summarizing all aspects of life at Ripon College. The Crimson strives to include all people associated with the College as well as their activities, contributions and life styles throughout each year.
Parallax
Parallax is Ripon College’s literary journal, published each spring, using visual art (photographs, artwork) and written works (short stories, poetry) submitted by students, faculty and staff. Members of Parallax staff are responsible for selecting entries, publishing the journal, and distributing the book throughout the Ripon community. Membership on the staff is open to all students.
Photogenesis
Photogenesis is the photography club of Ripon College. The purpose is to bring together people with a common interest in photography. The focus of meetings will be to share creative ideas and photography knowledge. Throughout the year, we will do at least two photo exhibits and publish our photos in Parallax. Members will learn how to use a darkroom and improve their photography skills. All people with an interest in photography are welcome to join, no past experience necessary.
Student Media & Activities Committee (SMAC)
SMAC organizes and promotes all-campus activities to stimulate social, educational, cultural and recreational development in the campus community. Thought-provoking speakers, evening coffeehouse events, off-campus travel, movies, mini-courses and homecoming festivities all are part of what SMAC sponsors. New faces are welcome at SMAC meetings, which are entertaining as well as informative. Get involved ... with SMAC! For additional information: SMAC Web site
