The Office of Community Engagement takes pride in connecting students to the surrounding community. There are numerous ways to get involved and any member of the office staff can match you to a program or agency that fits your schedule, interests, and goals.
Ways to get involved include:
- Direct Service – Participate in a single event or find a larger project through our numerous direct service opportunities. If you're interested in ongoing service or a leadership role, let us know. We’ll connect you to a site where you can help plan and execute projects and events based on your ideas and passions!
- Bonner Program – If you're dedicated to service and social justice, you should look into the Bonner Program. While this service-based scholarship program usually recruits first-year students, from time to time there are openings for upperclassmen as well.
- Academic Engagement – There are a number of ways to incorporate your passions into your academic courses through service-learning, non-profit research and consulting, or public policy research.
- Nonprofit Career Opportunities and Internships – Contact our office to learn about internships, jobs, and post-graduation opportunities in the nonprofit sector.
- Community Engagement Fair – The OCE hosts an annual volunteer fair in the fall where you can meet a number of area community partners offering volunteer opportunities, jobs, and internships.
- Our Volunteer Profile - Complete a quick online form to receive personalized follow-up from OCE staff.
