What is the Campus Assistance Program?

The Campus Assistance Program (CAP) offers professional help to you when you are feeling troubled. Personal problems affect each of us differently. Difficulty with concentration, declining work performance, misuse of alcohol, fatigue or persistent "down" feelings may signal greater concerns which can be better coped with through discussion with a counselor.

What services are available?

Initial service can be obtained by talking to the College Counselor, who serves as the CAP Coordinator. Through discussion, your concerns can be defined and options for further assistance can be explored. If referral to a community resource needs to be made, the CAP Coordinator will help you to contact the most appropriate resource so you can regain a sense of your own well-being. All aspects of this program remain confidential. No permanent records will be kept by the CAP Coordinator regarding your consultation.

Is it true that there is no fee?

There is no charge for consulting with the CAP Coordinator. A charge is made for diagnostic service at area resources. Costs incurred for treatment may be covered by College or personal insurance.
