Gary Page Gary R. Page ‘84

Elected Sept. 2004
Class of 2007
Spouse: Mary
Business: President
SDA, INC.

Gary Page was originally motivated to join the Board of Trustees because of his positive experiences as a student of Ripon College. He says he joined the Board of Trustees because he wanted to give back to the institution that helped him along the way. He also received a little nudge from President David Joyce and now fellow trustee Bob Kirkland; Gary became familiar with President Joyce during alumni gatherings he held at his home in Atlanta, and after getting to know him, Gary was compelled to become a Trustee.

“I was given an offer I just couldn’t turn down,” says Page. “It is very rewarding to be a Trustee of my alma mater."

Gary enjoys serving on the Board of Trustees because it allows him to see behind the scenes of the institution and to stay in touch with everything that is happening.
“It is very gratifying to get back on campus and see the college thriving,” says Page. In addition, when he returns to Ripon for Trustee meetings, he is able to see his parents who live in Green Lake. Gary adds geographic diversity to the Board of Trustees because he is not from Wisconsin or even the Midwest. He also contributes youth to the Board, as he is the youngest trustee. Gary believes his business sense and entrepreneurial spirit are some of his most valuable qualities.

Gary stays very busy working on multiple business endeavors. He founded the finance company SDA Inc. and is the Director and major shareholder of Cornerstone Bank in Atlanta. Gary also is involved in multiple real estate development projects in the Southeast. When he is not working, he enjoys racquetball, basketball and skiing. An avid runner, Gary has completed multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon. In support of David and Lynne Joyce he ran part of the Chicago Marathon. He served as the couple’s ‘Sherpa,’ and was in charge of making sure David finished all 26.2 miles. He shares his love of sports with his two children by coaching their soccer, basketball and baseball teams.

While Gary sees continuing to provide a quality, affordable education as a challenge for Ripon College, he is excited about the institution’s future and sees phenomenal leadership in President Joyce.

“I couldn’t ask for a better man to steer the ship,” says Page. Gary also notes the current construction, staff and morale as encouraging aspects of the institution. “Everything is poised for a bright future and it is a great time to be involved.”
