What compelled you to become a Ripon College Trustee?
I learned so much at Ripon and that helped me to have a successful life.
What rewards does it offer?
I get the opportunity to contribute to future generations and make a difference for students now.
What qualities do you bring to the table as a Trustee?
I am a good listener. I am also not hesitant to give my opinion but I like to hear all sides before I decide on any course of action. I did this in my career and I continue to strive to see all situations end to end.
What are some of your pursuits/hobbies/interests?
I like to travel, play tennis and do needlepoint.
What do you see as the most significant challenges for higher education in general, and Ripon in particular?
The most significant challenge for higher education is to produce responsible individuals of good moral character. In an age of instant gratification, the challenge is to instill values. The challenge for Ripon College is to attract and educate young people who are willing to work hard to achieve their goals with integrity.
What excites you the most about Ripon College’s future?
I am excited about Ripon's overall growth. I believe that a sustained student enrollment of 1,000 – 1,100 can be achieved without compromising standards.
