Lynne C. Joyce
Lynne is the owner of Leadership First Company. Believing that fulfillment
has a direct relationship to the quest for betterment, her work with
organizations involves creating, administering and facilitating leadership
development processes for all people in leadership positions. As coach
and facilitator, Lynne challenges participants to become visionary
as they deal with critical issues that lead to personal development
and organizational impact. A few of Lynne’s corporate clients
include Nationwide Insurance, Cardinal Health, Colgate Palmolive, Exel (Logistics), Solidstate Controls and Microsoft Business Solutions.
Working as a consultant and facilitator for 15 years, Lynne
has helped people within companies, non-profit organizations and
colleges develop strategic visions, mission statements, core values
and learning plans for professional development. She works with
people to define and embrace a personal and professional life of
continuous learning.
In 1996, Lynne found herself in a new role: the spouse of
a college president. Since day one, Lynne began weaving her life’s
work of helping people experience fulfillment into her everyday
life on campus. She often was asked to speak to or consult with
various organizations on campus about leadership and served as
adjunct professor for such courses as “Freshman Seminar” and “Adventures
in Leadership.” She worked with a team to create a customer-service
initiative entitled P.R.I.D.E. at Union College which was adopted
campus-wide. She was a facilitator for Union College Leadership
Education and Development (UCLEAD) and served as a coordinator
for the Corbin and Columbia District Servant Leadership Academy
for the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Lynne is a native of North Carolina. She received a B.S. degree
in education from Appalachian State University and a master’s
degree in human resource development from Vanderbilt University.
For fun, fitness and continuous learning, Lynne enjoys running,
swimming, mountain biking and white-water canoeing. She occasionally
competes in sprint triathlons, mountain bike races and adventure
races and has completed three marathons.
Lynne enjoys gourmet cooking and has her own cooking show — "Ripon Cooking 101: Cookin' with Flair" — broadcast on the Ripon public access channel 19.
David and Lynne Joyce have one daughter, Anna Bracco, who lives in Chicago with her husband, Nicolas.
