Key elements to keeping your machine free of viruses:
- Most anti-virus software allows you to schedule virus definition updates on a regular basis. We suggest that you search for updates on a daily basis. Virus Scan is scheduled to scan and update your computer automatically to help provide you with the best protection possible. Instructions on how to run a virus scan are available here.
- Run a system scan once a week, setting the anti-virus software to delete or clean infected files.
- If your machine has become infected, download Stinger. Stinger is a utility to help assist in virus removal, and should not be substituted for virus protection software.

Since you are disconnected from the Internet, you will not be able to download any anti-virus software or virus fixes. Please call X327 and schedule an appointment for a student assistant to come clean your machine. After your machine is clean, you will be reconnected shortly thereafter.
