By now there
are few who haven't heard tales of the tragedy unleashed
when Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States
in August. The scope of the damage impacted Ripon alumni and
students directly and indirectly. Some are still rebuilding their
lives, while others are helping in the rebuilding efforts. Nicole
Klaas '06 tells their stories of loss and inspiration.
With big names
like Tim Russert, Peggy Noonan and Fred Barnes on campus, there's
bound to be excitement. Such was the case when the three noted
journalists and authors headlined the Ethical Leadership Program's
three-day Ethics of the Media conference in February. With
Richard Threlkeld '59 as conference moderator and a host of
other regional experts and experienced professionals participating,
the conference attracted more than 1,000 guests and will likely
be regarded by many as the highlight of the semester, if not
the year. By Ian Stepleton '98

These Days at Ripon

While Ripon experienced another relatively mild winter, there
were a few moments of snow and cold - just enough to drape
Harwood Memorial Union and the rest of campus in a sparkling
gown of white. The frosty precipitation also provided some,
like this bicyclist, a much anticipated chance to get out and
play.
