Each year the College recognizes several of our faculty who embody Ripon’s mission and its values. Words used to describe the three professors honored in 2008 include: upbeat, mentor, friend, role model, intelligent, wise, passionate, inspirational, amazing, positive, supportive. Read about them and find out why.
The Alumni Association also honors a group of its own on an annual basis during the awards dinner at Alumni Weekend. This year eight were recognized for distinguished achievements and service. Take a look and see if an old classmate, teammate or friend is among them.
As highlighted in its mission statement, one of Ripon’s goals is to prepare its students for lives of productive, socially responsible citizenship. To that end, the College provides numerous opportunities for students to engage in service to others. Last spring, a group of students traveled to Wacuco, Panama, in an effort to help the residents of the small Central American village. Ian Stepleton ’98 joined them and shares the story.
