Former presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark begins and
ends the Ripon school year with appearances at both opening
convocation and commencement. A lot transpired in between:
A new Ethical Leadership Institute is formed and a new Forum
on Ethics and Oratory is established; construction and renovation
projects abound; and individual and group accomplishments are
noted, including conference titles in baseball and women's
basketball and the college's first national qualifier in cross
country.

We continue to focus on the outstanding teaching that is at
the core of the Ripon experience by highlighting five inspirational
educators who were recognized this past spring at awards convocation:
Tim Petersik, psychology; Patty Schultz, educational studies;
David Seligman, philosophy; Kate Sontag; English; and Lorna
Sopcak, German. Brandon Lorenz '02 asks these teachers and
their students what makes Ripon such a special place to teach
and learn.
Ripon says good-bye to tow longtime professors who retired
at the close of 2004-2005. Professor of Chemistry Richard Scamehorn
hung up his labcoat and while Professor of Exercise Science
Charles Larson '65 will continue to coach the men's tennis
team, he auctioned his class syllabi on ebay.

Bartlett Hall shines under the warmth of sunsinie, framed
by clear blue skies and the frsh new growth of spring. Built
in 1888, Bartlett has served as a residence hall for much of
its history. It was completely renovated in 1987-88 and now
houses student service offices, the Student Sennate Chambers
and classrooms.
