RIPON, Wis. –The Ripon College Jazz Ensemble will embrace a wide variety of jazz tunes in their April 25 concert, 7:30 p.m. in the Demmer Recital Hall of Harwood Memorial Union.
Conductor Kurt Dietrich notes that variety is what jazz is all about, and a crucial part of the experience for audience and performers alike.
The program contains modern takes on classic like “When The Saints Go Marching In” along with many blues tunes, from multiple versions of “Things Ain’t What They Used to Be” to pieces by well known jazz artists Sonny Rollins, Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan.
