America’s Dream Chamber Artists to perform Feb. 23
Feb. 18, 2008

RIPON, Wis. – America’s Dream Chamber Artists will introduce Ripon to a new generation of classical music with their performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 in the Demmer Recital Hall of Ripon College’s C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. The performance will include works by Beethoven and twentieth-century composers Zoltan Kodaly and Olivier Messiaen.

Founded in 2003 in New York, America’s Dream Chamber Artists (ADCA) is a group of 52 musicians of diverse backgrounds embarking on a mission to change the face of chamber music. Arash Amini, cofounder and cellist of ADCA, told Chamber Music Magazine, “We are trying to present an image that’s different from the mainstream conservative look of most classical musicians.”

ADCA aims to combine musical masterpieces ranging from the Baroque to Contemporary periods with trendy, modern costumes and visual images to make chamber music approachable and enjoyable to audiences of all ages. Fashion and celebrity photographer Leslie Kee and his team of stylists, hair and makeup artists and set designers work closely with the group to create a renewed and energized performance.

ACDA performed its 2004-2005 inaugural season at Peter Norton Symphony Space in New York. They have appeared twice on WQXR’s McGraw-Hill Young Artists Showcase and on Voice of America television and Internet broadcasts worldwide.

Tickets are available at Ripon College’s Rodman Center for the Arts and at Ripon Drug. Prices are $15 for adults; $12 for senior citizens age 62 and older, and Ripon College faculty and staff; and $8 for youth age 18 and younger. For more information, contact the Ripon College Music Department at 920-748-8791.
