MidwestBusiness.com Lists Ripon.edu Among Top 10 Web Sites in Wisconsin

RIPON, Wis. – MidwestBusiness.com, formerly ePrairie.com, recently named Ripon.edu to its list of the Top 10 Web Sites in Wisconsin. Ripon is the only educational institution of any kind in the Wisconsin list.

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, Ripon.edu scored 9 in Navigation; 8 in Look & Feel; 5 on Uniqueness; and 9 on Content for an overall score of 31, which placed it sixth on the list. Editors commented that Ripon.edu had "very deep and fresh content" but could stand to improve its "uniqueness."

Whereas previous candidate pools were generated by keyword searches on popular Web sites, editors this year used a geographic search on Hoover's to build an initial list. The publication admits, however, that using Hoover's for its data pool excludes very small businesses from consideration. The No. 1 Wisconsin Web site according to editors was that of Mercury Marine Group from nearby Fond du Lac, which scored 37 overall.
