The Center for Social Responsibility helps bridge the gap between academics and the real world by providing a variety of opportunities for students to learn about leadership beyond a standard curriculum, whether through applied business consulting or meaningful community service projects.
Creative Enterprise Consultants in the Center provide business support to area organizations and start-ups. This student-run consultancy has provided the following services to local organizations: business planning, feasibility studies, marketing plans, financials and budgets, and market research
As a volunteer within the Center, Ripon students provide critical support on a variety of community service projects. Each week, the Center distributes a listing of service opportunities to campus. The Center also works with local organizations to compile a regular internships available to help students gain work experience and develop sought-after professional skills. Qualified juniors and seniors may qualify to receive pay for internship work through the Great Lakes Career Ready Internship Initiative.
For the past two years, the Center has been recognized for its local community engagement efforts as a member of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
Academically, the Center partners with faculty to oversee an innovative new minor in socially responsible leadership with two emphases: social entrepreneurship and innovation, and community engagement and service learning.
