Assistant Professor of Economics

Assistant Professor of Economics

Ripon College invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor beginning August 2015 to participate in developing a new major in business economics.

Doctorate preferred; ABD will be considered; MBA and/or management experience desirable.

Preferred teaching areas are several of the following: a senior seminar, entrepreneurship, economic forecasting or other data analysis, industrial organization, and economic principles, in a teaching load of three courses per semester.

Assistant Professor of Educational Studies

Assistant Professor of Educational Studies

Ripon College, a Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate liberal-arts college with a history of commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Educational Studies (Early Childhood and Elementary Generalist) beginning August 2015.

Ph.D. in Education with a background in Curriculum and Instruction at the Early Childhood and Elementary levels. College level teaching experience and a minimum of three years of PreK-Grade 6 teaching are required. The position involves teaching undergraduate classes in early childhood and elementary education. Supervision of students in clinical settings is also a responsibility of the position. Expertise in elementary mathematics education and experience supporting student teachers in completion of the edTPA will be considered an asset in the review of applications. Teaching load is twelve credits per semester, inclusive of clinical supervision.

Associate Director of Development

Associate Director of Development

Ripon College seeks an enthusiastic, motivated senior gift officer. In this position he/she will be responsible for visiting upper end annual fund donors, as well as individuals identified through research as potential major gift and planned gift donors to the College. Additional responsibilities include participating in regular meetings with both development and annual fund staff and facilitating activities that will help build a base for the concluding Imagine Tomorrow comprehensive campaign and future development priorities. This position will also be tasked with providing leadership and ownership over the College’s planned gift program.

This position is best served with a person of integrity, commitment to confidentiality, patience with others, professionalism and attention to detail. A sense of humor, strong people skills, and a team orientation are essential. Flexibility, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and sensitivity to the stewardship of long term relationships between the College and its donors are also desirable. A bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license (must meet Ripon College’s driver approval requirements) and at least three to five years of experience in development or other comparable activities is required. The incumbent will spend approximately 50% of the time traveling in the upper Midwest visiting donors and prospective donors for the College.

Residence Hall Directors

Ripon College invites applications for two Residence Hall Director positions. These live-in positions will commence in July 2015.

Under the supervision of the Director of Residence Life, a Residence Hall Director will provide educational opportunities and community development activities for 325-360 students at a residential, liberal arts college. Ten to twelve hours per week of a collateral opportunity in a student affairs department outside of residence life is included.

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and residence hall staff experience; an understanding of the benefits of a liberal arts education; communication, confrontation, programming, and leadership skills; open-mindedness, maturity, approachability, and enthusiasm; and an ability to motivate and support students and student staff in educational endeavors.

Compensation includes a competitive salary, College meal plan, furnished apartment and reserved parking space.
