Assistant Professor of English
Ripon College seeks an Assistant Professor of English.
This is a tenure-track assistant professorship, specialist in creative writing (poetry); terminal degree required MFA preferred, PhD considered. Position begins August, 2014.
The typical teaching expectation at Ripon College, a small liberal arts institution, is three courses per semester including freshman composition. The desired candidate will be a published poet with the ability to teach in multiple creative writing genres and American literature. Additionally, a background in minority, and/or Anglophone literature is desired. Preference will be given to those whose work is informed by global, diverse or underrepresented voices. Successful candidates’ records will demonstrate effective teaching at the undergraduate level, as well as active and ongoing professional development. Assistant Professor of History
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF U.S. HISTORY / AFRICAN OR ASIAN DIASPORA
The history department at Ripon College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in U.S. history (period open) with a secondary specialty in African or Asian diaspora.
We are especially interested in candidates whose work on transnational, diasporic, or borderlands issues has prepared them to teach courses in both U.S. history and the history of Africa, South Asia, East Asia, or the Caribbean. We would welcome specializations in areas such as slavery/abolition, immigration, ethnicity, race relations, gender issues, colonialism or popular culture. The PhD is expected by the start date (August 2014), and some college-level teaching experience is preferred.

Assistant Professor of Psychology
Ripon College, a Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate liberal-arts college with a history of commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning August 2014.
Ph.D. or ABD status in Psychology with a background in Neuroscience is required. Previous teaching experience and a strong research program capable of involving motivated students desired. The position involves teaching undergraduate classes in experimental and clinical neuroscience. Additional classes will include Research Design and Statistics, some General Psychology, and topics of the successful candidate’s interest. Teaching load is three classes per semester.

Vice President for Finance
Ripon College seeks applications and nominations for a Vice President for Finance to fill the position left vacant following the retirement of the former Vice President after more than sixteen years of service to the College. The Vice President for Finance is a member of the College’s administrative council and one of five executives who directly report to the President, Dr. Zach Messitte.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial executive with a successful record of managing diverse operations, broad intellectual interests and a commitment to the importance of a liberal arts education. He or she will be a collaborative team member and skilled communicator who maintains the highest level of integrity. The candidate will have expertise in accounting, strategic planning, budget, tax and regulatory compliance, as well as a thorough understanding of investment principles and risk management. Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated working relationship with banks and financial institutions are considered a plus. Preferences will be given to candidates with a Master of Business Administration and/or comparable professional degrees in accounting or corporate finance and a successful track record in higher education.
The core responsibilities of the Vice President for Finance include the following:
- Serving as the primary administrative liaison to the Board of Trustees on matters related to finance, investment, construction contracts and approval, risk management and audit
- Working closely with the President’s Administrative Council to advance the academic mission of the College
- Developing and overseeing the successful implementation of annual budgets and long term financial plans
- Developing and honing the College’s financial models and forecasts that anticipate risks and opportunities
- Managing accounting, tax, audit and compliance obligations
- Providing an independent perspective on investment strategies
- Working with the Vice President for Advancement to ensure accurate and strategic allocation of philanthropic gifts and assisting the development team in their stewardship efforts by providing up-to-date balances and outcomes for restricted funds.
- Communicating financial and budget data clearly to faculty, staff, students, trustees and alumni and external constituents
- Supervising business functions including, but not limited to, contracts, insurance, banking and lenders, legal affairs, personnel management, payroll and benefits administration
- Leading and developing a professional financial staff by providing mentorship and leadership to foster success

Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track Coach
Ripon College, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the Midwest Conference, is seeking a Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track Coach. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all aspects of coaching; recruiting, scheduling, travel and budget management. In addition other responsibilities will be required dependent upon the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Knowledge of and previous adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, as well as dedication to the academic development of the student-athlete is required. Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience required, master’s preferred. Position is effective immediately.
