Writer Nick White to appear at Ripon College Nov. 8

Writer Nick White, author of the short story collection Sweet and Low and the novel How to Survive a Summer, will read at Ripon College Thursday, Nov. 8. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Lane Library. It is free and open to the public.

A native of Mississippi, White is an assistant professor of English at Ohio State University’s master’s program in creative writing. His short stories, poems and essays have appeared in such publications as The Kenyon Review, Guernica, The Hopkins Review, Indiana Review, The Literary Review, Catapult and Electric Literature’s Required Reading. How to Survive a Summer was a finalist for the Crook’s Corner Book Prize and a semifinalist for the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award.

His appearance is supported by the College’s Visiting Writers Series and the Schang Family Visiting Writers’ Fund.
