Ensembles present Holiday Concert Dec. 15
The Ripon College Orchestra, Choral Union, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble will present a combined Holiday Concert Sunday, Dec. 15. The concert will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts, on the Ripon College campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Orchestra and Choral Union will perform together selected movements from “Magnificat,” by J.S. Bach.
Other concert selections are:
Choral Union: “Christmas Lullaby,” by John Rutter; “Christmas Day (Carol Fantasy on Old Carols),” by Gustav Holst; and “Jingle Bells,” performed by a small-men’s ensemble. Seong Kyung Graham directs the ensemble.
Orchestra: “Greensleeves,” by Ralph Vaughan-Williams; and “Sleigh Ride,” by Leroy Anderson. Kyle Szabo directs the orchestra.
Symphonic Wind Ensemble: “A Christmas Festival,” by Leroy Anderson; and a sing-along medley, “It’s Christmas,” by Warren Barker.
Jazz Ensemble: “Jingle Bells,” by Count Basie; and arrangements of “Christmas Time is Here,” from the Charlie Brown Christmas specials, and “Mary, Did You Know?” Kurt Dietrich directs the ensembles.
