Holiday concert featuring musical ensembles Sunday, December 14

All musical ensembles at Ripon College will present a joint holiday concert at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for Arts. Admission is free and open to the public.

John C. Hughes, director of choral activities, will conduct Choral Union and Collegium Musicum. Choral Union will sing Roger Emerson’s arrangement of “Mary Had a Baby” and Peter Wilhousky’s arrangement of “Carol of the Bells.” Collegium Musicum will sing Arvo Pärt’s “Bogoróditse Djévo” and Norman Luboff’s arrangement of “Still, Still, Still.”

The Ripon College Orchestra, directed by Kyle Szabo, assistant professor of music, will perform selections from the holiday classic Suite No. 1, Op. 71A, “The Nutcracker,” by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble will be under the direction of Professor Kurt Dietrich. Wind Ensemble will play “It’s Christmas,” a collection of Christmas favorites that will incorporate an audience sing-along.
