Founders’ Day Re-Scheduled

Founders' Day

Ripon College’s Founders’ Day celebration, originally scheduled for January 28 has been re-scheduled due to inclement weather. The new date and location for the Founders’ Day program is Tuesday, February 18, in the Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. The event will start at 11:15 a.m.

As part of this year’s celebration, the Founders’ Day award will be presented to The Boldt Company. Each year, the Founders’ Day Award is presented to an individual or an organization in the Ripon community who exemplifies the ideals of the founders of Ripon College.

Boldt is one of the largest professional construction services firms in the nation. From the original storefront carpentry shop opened by Martin Boldt in 1889, the company has grown into a national organization, offering world-class construction services, including Integrated Lean Project Delivery construction management, general construction, design/build, real estate development, program management, consulting and technical services.

As the company celebrates its 125th anniversary, it remains a fourth generation, family-owned professional construction services firm. Its long-standing values are honesty, fairness, performance, hard work and a love of what they do.

Education is one of the key industries upon which The Boldt Company focuses. The company’s presence is felt strongly on the Ripon College campus. Campus projects undertaken by The Boldt Company include: the Quads (Bovay) (1958); Farr Hall (1960), original construction; Pickard Commons (1961); Johnson Hall (1962); Storzer Physical Education Center (1967); Todd Wehr Hall (1968); and Farr Hall expansion (1990s). Members of the Boldt family also have made numerous financial gifts to the College.

Each year, The Boldt Company earmarks at least 10 percent of its profits for charitable giving and support of many civic and educational causes. To advance the industry that has given the company so much, they have established endowments in a number of colleges and universities.

In addition to the Founders’ Day Award presentation, three current Ripon College students will be featured speakers. Amanda Gesiorski ’14, Christian Krueger ’15, and Naomi Jahn ’14 recently published a book, Images of America: Ripon.
