RIPON, Wis. - After a strong start to the 2008 season, Ripon dropped their third consecutive match on Friday, losing to St. Norbert 7-2. The Green Knights won all three doubles matches, with Ripon managing to salvage two matches in singles competition.
Ripon's winners included Arielle Denis and Brooke Deans, who won in number three and five singles, respectively. Denis won her match over Allyson Yankle 7-5, 6-4, while Deans was victorious over Stephanie Marek 2-6, 7-5,
10-2. The only other match that was close came in number six singles, where Ripon's Kate Dricken took Anna Reardon to the wire, losing 6-3, 2-6, 9-11.
The Red Hawks (4-4, 1-2 MWC) won't have time to dwell on this loss, as they'll be in action again on Saturday, when they'll travel to UW-River Falls to take on the Falcons. That match will begin at Noon.
