Red Hawks Serve Up A Win Against Lakeland

RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawk women's tennis team has steadily improved all season long. Tuesday, they defeated Lakeland College 9-0 to earn their second win of the season, doubling their win total from a year ago. Ripon didn't face much adversity all day, as they won each match in two sets.

In number one singles, Brittany Sullivan won the first match of her collegiate career, sweeping Erica Brown 6-0,
6-0. Chelsey Foster and Arielle Denis followed suit with victories of their own in number two and three singles, respectively. After Ripon won by default in the fourth and fifth singles matches, Kate Dricken finished the Muskies off, defeating Jacolyn Love 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, Kara Wagner and Meagan Sykes teamed up in number one doubles to defeat Matsubayla and Tess 8-4. Kristine Jansen and Megan Petri then won their number two doubles match 8-0 over Love and Brown. The third and final doubles match was won by default, giving Ripon a clean sweep of Lakeland.

Ripon will be in action again tomorrow, as they'll travel to Mount Mary College. That match is set for 4:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
