RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks put up a valiant fight Friday against a tough UW-River Falls team, but it wasn't enough as UW-RF defeated Ripon 9-0. The Red Hawks were able to score some good points against the Falcons, but lost each match in two sets.

The closest Ripon came to victory in singles play came via number three and number five singles. Ripon's Arielle Denis lost in number three action 6-3, 6-1, while Alecia Kiszonas fell in number five play 6-1, 6-3. The Red Hawks almost snuck away with a victory in number three doubles action, as Megan Sockness and Brooke Deans lost their match 8-6.

Ripon will try to regroup on September 18 against Lakeland College in a match that was postponed from earlier in the year. That match will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Larson Courts.
