GREEN BAY, Wis. - All good things must come to an end, and that was no different for Ripon's recent winning streak. After winning their last two matches, the Red Hawks fell to St. Norbert 9-0 in what was their second Midwest Conference match of the season.
Ripon (3-5, 0-2) scored at least one point in all six of their singles matches. Kate Dricken came closest to victory, playing at number six singles, as she won the first set against Jeanna Mischke. Dricken lost in a tiebreaker 6-4, 4-6 (4-10). All five of the other singles matches ended in two sets with no tiebreakers.
The Red Hawks stayed very competitive in doubles play. Ripon's Kristine Jansen and Chelsey Foster nearly took home a victory, losing 9-7 in number two doubles. Kara Wagner and Meagan Sykes lost their number one match
8-2, while the freshman pair of Megan Sockness and Brooke Deans lost 8-3 in number three doubles.
Ripon won't have much time to rest, as they'll be in action again tomorrow, when they'll travel to Madison, Wis. to take on Edgewood College. That match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
