MILWAUKEE, Wis. - For the second time in as many days, the Ripon women's tennis team came away with a win, defeating Mount Mary College 9-0 on Wednesday. The Red Hawks breezed through each of their singles and doubles matches without really being challenged. With the victory, Ripon improves their season record to 3-4.
Ripon's Brittany Sullivan experienced the closest match of the day, defeating Mount Mary's Brittany Kaurich 6-4,
6-1. Chelsey Foster and Erin Gebhardt then followed with wins of their own at number two and four singles, respectively. Alecia Kiszonas also came away victorious in number five singles, sweeping MMC's Thao Giang 6-0,
6-0. Brooke Deans and Megan Sockness each won their singles matches by default.
Wagner and Foster fared the same in doubles play as they did in singles action. The duo teamed up to defeat Kaurich and Walsh 8-3. Sockness and Deans followed that up with an 8-0 win in number two doubles. Gebhardt and Kiszonas won their number three doubles match by default.
The Red Hawks will be back in action on Friday, as they'll travel to DePere to face St. Norbert in a Midwest Conference match up. That match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
