LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Both Ripon and Lake Forest entered Friday's match each having won their first match of the season. After the match, Lake Forest was the team that remained undefeated, defeating the Red Hawks 7-2. The Foresters won four of the six singles matches, before defeating Ripon in all three doubles contests.
Alli Berry began things on the right note for the Foresters (2-0). She defeated Ripon's Brittany Sullivan in number one singles, 6-0, 6-0. Erin Gebhardt and Alecia Kiszonas were the only Red Hawks to come away victorious. Gebhardt won her match over Natalie Atroshenko, 6-1, 6-2 in number four singles, while Kiszonas defeated Viri Del Bosque, 6-2, 7-5 in number five singles.
The three doubles matches were all Lake Forest. Berry and Anne Demere defeated Kara Wagner and Meagan Sykes 8-0 in number one doubles, while Iona O'Donnell and Molly Stapleton defeated Kristine Jansen and Megan Petri 8-4 in number two play. Zaccarello and Hayley Roberts rounded out the match by defeating Ripon's freshman duo of Megan Sockness and Brooke Deans 8-2.
The Red Hawks will try to bounce back on Tuesday, as they'll host UW-Oshkosh in a match that was moved from Oshkosh. The match will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Ripon.
