WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Red Hawks managed to win the final two single matches Sunday, but those would be the only wins they would get, as they lost 7-2 to Carroll College. Ripon managed to score some points in doubles play, but it wasn't enough.
Ripon's Alecia Kiszonas and Kate Dricken each won their respective singles matches. Kiszonas was victorious in number five singles, while Dricken was the winner in number six singles. Each of them ended up winning in a 10-2 tiebreaker.
In doubles play, Kara Wagner and Meagan Sykes lost their number one doubles match 8-2 to Hana Poser and Mindy Benz. Kristine Jansen and Megan Petri then lost 8-1 in number two doubles, before Carroll's Stacy Hraban and Sarah Anthony defeated Megan Sockness and Brooke Deans in number three doubles.
With the win, Carroll College improves to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Midwest Conference. The loss drops Ripon's record to 3-7, including 0-3 in the MWC. The Red Hawk's regular season will come to an end on Thursday, when they'll host Lawrence University. That match will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Larson Courts.
