RIPON, Wis. - Ripon got a taste of what it feels like to dominate
a tennis match in their last game against Lakeland, but Saturday,
they were on the other end of things once again, dropping their
conference opener to Lake Forest, 9-0.
In number one singles, LFC's Alli Berry didn't have a problem
with Jamie Lichon, winning 6-0, 6-1. In number two action, Jaime
Jackson defeated Mara Evans 6-1, 6-2. Anastasic Rudkorskaya continued
the Lake Forest trend, defeating Arielle Denis 6-2, 6-3. In number
four play, Kendal Wapotish defeated Chelsey Foster 6-1, 6-1. In
what was the most competitive match of the day, Lake Forest's Molly
Stapleton defeated Alecia Kiszonas 6-2, 7-6 (11-9). Anna Mahar
finished off the perfection in singles play by defeating Ripon's
Kate Dricken 6-3, 6-2.
The Foresters took all three doubles matches as well, as they
cruised to a 9-0 victory. The loss drops the Red Hawks to 1-2 overall
and 0-1 in conference play. They'll try to get back in the win
column Wednesday, as they'll host UW-Oshkosh at 3:30.
