APPLETON, Wis. - The Ripon women's soccer season came to an end Saturday, with a 3-0 loss at Lawrence University. After falling behind by one goal at halftime, the Vikings found the net twice in the second half to seal the victory. Lawrence out-shot the Red Hawks 18-2, with 13 of their shots coming in the second half.
The game was played evenly for the first 39 minutes, until Sarah Ehlinger netted her ninth goal of the season in the 40th minute to break a scoreless tie on an assist from Mallory Koula.
In the second half, Ehlinger was at it again, scoring her second goal of the game in the 77th minute on an assist from Celesta Kirk. Two minutes later, Koula recorded her 23rd goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Annie Kaiser.
Ripon (3-15, 3-6 MWC) recorded 11 saves in the game, as Angelica Cooper played the full 90 minutes between the pipes. Lindsey Ahlen also played the entire game at goalkeeper, saving two shots for the Vikings (11-6, 5-4 MWC).
