MONMOUTH, Ill. - Ripon allowed three first-half goals in Sunday's game at Monmouth College, as the Fighting Scots went on to defeat the Red Hawks 5-0. Monmouth had several shots at scoring, shooting the ball 29 times, including 15 on goal. Ripon goalkeeper Angelica Cooper played all 90 minutes, making 10 saves. The Red Hawks recorded eight shots on the day.
The scoring was started just three and a half minutes into the game, as Megan Meeke scored on a pass from Amy Unzicker. Sarah Kisner then added Monmouth's second goal in the 17th minute, on a pass from Meeke, who scored her second goal in the 31st minute to take a 3-0 lead into the half.
The second half scoring started with Unzicker on the receiving end of a goal in the 60th minute, her third score of the season. Becca Baur capped the scoring in the 75th minute, with her sixth goal of the year, on an assist from Molly Ball.
Ripon will try to get back on the winning track on Wednesday, when they'll travel to Marian College. That game will begin at 7 p.m. in Fond du Lac.
