Lake Forest Too Much For Red Hawks

September 8, 2007

Box Score

RIPON, Wis. - Lake Forest dominated Saturday's game against the Red Hawks from the very beginning. The Foresters shot the ball 18 more times than Ripon, while scoring two goals in the first half, and three more insurance scores in the second half, en route to a 5-0 victory.

Mackenzie Yates put Lake Forest (2-1-1, 1-0) on the board first with a header off the pass from Bianca Green. Emily Sadler added to that lead just before halftime with a goal of her own on an assist from Emily Weber. The Foresters wasted no time in the second half, getting their third goal just one minute in, on a Monica Thomas goal from Katie Rice. Weber added the fourth goal five minutes later, before Sadler scored her second of the game to cap the scoring.

The Foresters outshot Ripon 21-3 in the game. 13 of Lake Forest's 21 shots were on goal, while Ripon's only shot on goal came off the foot of Rachel Martzahl. The Red Hawks (0-3, 0-1) were able to make eight saves combined, between Brenda Zastrow and Amber Rico, while Lake Forest made one save.

Ripon will be in action again on Tuesday, as they'll travel to Alverno College for a non-conference match up. The game is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
