Grinnell, Iowa - Ripon allowed six second half goals, en route to a 10-1 loss at Grinnell College on Sunday. The Pioneers dominated from the outset, getting off 44 shots in the game, to four for the Red Hawks. The loss snaps Ripon's two-game winning streak.
Grinnell (7-5, 5-1) didn't waste much time, scoring their first goal just six minutes into the contest, as Katherine Ni put the ball in the net. Kim Durinick added two goals in before halftime, while Sydney Stroker also put a point on the board, giving the Pioneers a 4-0 halftime lead.
They didn't let up in the second half, scoring twice more on a pair of goals by Miki Nakamura. Rachel Martzahl then got Ripon (3-9, 1-5) on the board with their lone goal of the game, off a pass from Janel Karsten. Grinnell would add four more goals after that point, including a third by Durinick.
Ripon will try to get back in the win column on Tuesday as they'll travel to UW-Platteville to take on the Pioneers in a non-conference match up. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Platteville, Wis.
