RIPON, Wis. - One year after finishing in a three-way tie for seventh place, the Red Hawk women's soccer team was voted to end up in about the same position for the 2007 season. Ripon was picked to finish eighth in the Midwest Conference preseason coaches poll, as released by the conference office on Wednesday.

Grinnell was selected to repeat as conference champ, receiving seven of the ten possible first-place votes. The next five spots were voted the same as last season's actual finish in the standings. Carroll received the remaining three first-place votes, followed by St. Norbert, Lake Forest, Monmouth, and Beloit. Lawrence was selected one spot ahead of Ripon, while Illinois College and Knox rounded out the poll.
