RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks started out slow Sunday, but finished
strong, snapping their nine game winless streak with a 4-0 victory
over Knox College. Ripon outshot the Prairie Fire 24-3 in the game.
Jill Jones started the scoring in the 22nd minute with an unassisted
goal. That's the way the score would stay, until the second half
when Rachel Resop put in another unassisted goal in the 48th minute.
Just two minutes later, Jones connected on her second goal, off
a pass from Musu Jammeh. Anneli Martinek rounded out the scoring,
sealing the game with a goal in the 86th minute.
The Red Hawks will try for their second two-game winning streak
of the season Sunday, when they'll host Carroll College. Gametime
is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by the men's contest.
