PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Ripon was behind almost immediately Saturday
night as they dropped thier game at UW-Platteville. The Red Hawks
(2-5-1) lost their fifth game out of the past six after starting
the season 2-0.
Platteville (8-2-1) came out of the gates firing. The Pioneers
scored the first goal of the game in hte 13th minute on a goal
by Allie Metcalfe. They weren't done though, as they would score
again just five minutes lateron an Ashley Hamilton goal to cap
the first half scoring.
In the second half, UW-P began where they left off, as Metcalfe
scored once again in the 51st minute. Kim Schneckloth added another
goal to put the Pioneers up 4-0. Just two minutes later, Metcalfe
scored once more, giving her the hat trick on an unassisted goal.
Ripon finally got on the board in the 89th minute, as leading scorer
Jill Jones scored on a penalty kick in the 89th minute.
The Red Hawks will pick up conference play once again on Wednesday,
as they'll host St. Norbert. Gametime is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
and will be followed by the men's game against the Green Knights.
