LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Red Hawks have had one of the
best starts to a season than they've had in recent memory, winning
their first two games of the season. Saturday, they began conference
play, where every game counts. Lake Forest ended Ripon's two game
winning streak, handing the Red Hawks their first loss of the season,
4-0.
The game was lopsided in many different categories. Lake Forest
outshot Ripon 23-4, while also recording twice as many corner kicks.
The game didn't get out of hand until the second half. The two
teams went to the locker room with the Foresters taking a 1-0 lead
on a Brittany MacLeod goal. Katie Rice tacked on an insurance goal
in the 59th minute and Monica Thomas and Jocelyn Maneval added
one goal apiece for Lake Forest to cap the scoring.
Ripon will try to get back on the winning track Friday as they'll
travel to Beloit to play the Buccaneers. That game will begin at
7:00.
