RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawk women soccer program more than doubled their win total in 2006. After winning just two games in 2005, Ripon won their first two matches this season, en route to a 5-10-1 record. A big reason for the increase in victories was senior midfielder Jill Jones, who was named to the Midwest Conference Second Team, which was released Thursday by the league office.
Jones led the Red Hawks with 23 points, which was tied for fifth among all MWC players. The Marango, Ill. native also scored a team-high 10 goals, ranking fourth among the conference leaders. Jones also did some sharing this season, as she was tied for the team-lead in assists as well, notching three on the year. Jones started all 16 games for the Red Hawks this season.
