WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Red Hawks competed in the UW-Whitewater Invitational this weekend along with 13 other teams, including four other Midwest Conference schools. After one day of competition, Ripon stood in 12th place out of 14 teams, but a rough second day of play dropped them one spot to 13th for the tournament. The Red Hawks shot a second round score of 476, after recording a 422 on the initial day of competition.
Gina Heckl was a bright spot for the Red Hawks, as she shot an 87 in both days of the competition, finishing with a two-round score of 174. That ranked Heckl 22nd overall in the individual competition. Amanda Holdshoe shot the next best score by a Red Hawk, finishing with a two-round 210, which ranked her 69th individually. Holdshoe improved two strokes in the second day of play. Katie Schumaker wasn't far behind Holdshoe, finishing 79th individually with a two-round 229.
The Red Hawks will be in action again in the middle of the week, as they'll take part in the St. Norbert Invitational on Wednesday.
