RIPON, Wis. -
The Midwest Conference released its women's basketball All-Conference selections Monday afternoon, with Theresa Kenney being the lone Red Hawk selected. Kenney was named to the second team, the first All-Conference selection of her career.
Kenney, who averaged five minutes per game in the first eight games of the season, finished strong starting 12 of the Red Hawks final 13 games. In 19 appearances, Kenney averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, ranking second on the team in both categories. The senior forward led the team in foul shooting, connecting on 83 percent of her shots from the charity stripe. A native of McFarland, Wis., Kenney also led the team in field goal percentage, shooting 47 percent from the field.
Lake Forest, Carroll, and Lawrence led the way with two first teamers apiece. The Foresters and Vikings also added one second teamer each. Carroll's Crystal Hoewisch was named MWC Player of the Year, while Lake Forest coach Jackie Slaats earned conference coach of the year honors.
