Kelly Witte joined
Ripon College in 1996 to direct both the women's volleyball
and softball programs. Since joining the Red Hawks staff,
Witte has helped both teams achieve unprecedented success.
Under her guidance, the volleyball squad has had seven winning
seasons, including a second place finish in 2002.
Witte ended the 2007 season with 292 career victories, 189 of which have come at Ripon College. Witte enters the 2008 season, 69 wins behind Elaine Coll for most wins in school history.
In 2004, Witte led Ripon to a 21-15 overall record and an
8-1 conference mark, which helped earn her the Midwest Conference
Coach of the Year. That marked the first volleyball MWC Coach
of the Year award in Ripon history.
Prior to Ripon, Witte was head coach at Edgewood College,
where she led the team to three conference championships
and was also honored as Coach of the Year.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh,
Witte had a successful career in volleyball and softball.
She was named to the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Conference
(WWIAC) All-Conference Teams for both sports and named to
the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)
All-District Team for volleyball. She helped UW-Oshkosh to four
post-season berths in softball and a sixth-place finish at
the NCAA Division III Tournament. Witte also was an NAIA
Scholar-Athlete, on the WWIAC Honor Roll and twice was named
to the Scholastic All-American Team.
Witte, who also serves as an associate professor in the
Department of Exercise Science, graduated with her master's
degree in physical education from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse
in 1992. She also holds a doctorate degree in Leadership
Studies from Cardinal Stritch University, which she received
in May 2005. |
