DePERE, Wis. - In what was their third opportunity of the season to defeat conference-leading St. Norbert, the Red Hawks ended on the losing side of things for the third time, losing to the Green Knights in three sets on Wednesday. St. Norbert won the first set
25-18, before dropping the next two 25-17 and 25-15.
Christy Looker led the Red Hawks (11-17, 5-3 MWC) with nine kills and 10 digs, while Anna Alvin added eight kills, four digs and two blocks. Lisa Aguilar also chipped in with four kills and 10 digs. Alison Ernst, who is the reigning MWC Performer of the Week, recorded a team-high 19 assists. Ripon managed just three total team blocks, compared to 10.5 for St. Norbert.
The Green Knights (21-9, 8-0 MWC) were led by Sarah Sulentic's eight kills. Tory Dohm and Lauren Meehan each added seven, with Meehan adding 11 digs and three blocks. Danielle Remy came up big at the net, with six kills and seven blocks. Laura Ayello recorded a game-high 25 assists, to go along with 13 digs, while Catherine Guido registered a game-high 14 digs.
The Red Hawks will travel to Carroll University on Saturday for their final test of the regular season. That match will begin at 1 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis.
